Description
The Sileu Bell is the cup for a low cervix. Its bell-shaped body measures just 30 mm in size S and 35 mm in size L —almost half the length of our other models— so it does not bump into the cervix when it sits close to the vaginal opening, which is the most common cause of discomfort and leaks for women with a low cervix.
Who it is for
If with other cups you feel they “do not fit”, that the base sticks out or that they press, your cervix is probably low (see how the menstrual cup should sit). The Bell is made for that anatomy, and it also tends to work well for mild prolapse and for beginners looking for a small cup (if that is you, read how to choose your first menstrual cup).
Its silicone is firm on purpose: a cup this short needs firmness to open fully and seal. The stem, long and thin (30 mm), helps you locate it and is easy to trim if it is too long.
The trade-off is capacity: it is the smallest in the range (15–20 ml up to the air holes). On heavy days you will need to empty it more often. If your cervix is not low, a model with more capacity such as the Sileu Rose will suit you better.
Measurements
| Measurement | Size S | Size L |
|---|---|---|
| Capacity up to the air holes | 15 ml | 20 ml |
| Capacity up to the rim | 20 ml | 25 ml |
| Total length | 60 mm | 65 mm |
| Body length (without stem) | 30 mm | 35 mm |
| Stem length | 30 mm | 30 mm |
| Diameter | 40 mm | 40 mm |
What changes between size S and size L
With the Bell the difference in length between sizes is minimal: the body goes from 30 to 35 mm and the total length from 60 to 65 mm, with the same 30 mm stem and the same 40 mm rim. What does grow is capacity: from 15 to 20 ml up to the air holes. If you have a low cervix and have had a vaginal birth, the L is yours. More guidance in how to choose between size S and L.
Colour, material and care
Only in clear, with no pigment at all, in medical-grade silicone certified to ISO 10993. As its stem is long and thin, trim it to fit during the first week: with a low cervix it is normal to have some left over. Sterilise it at the end of each period in boiling water or in the foldable steriliser. Compatible with an IUD and the contraceptive ring.
